About

January 30th, 2007

We are a home education family who is looking towards the goal of teaching other home schooled students about the art of film. It is our hope to spend time with other home school students to learn the art of film making, and create one film per semester of the school year.

It is a goal of this group to learn to work with others in a creative community. Allowing others to contribute their ideas, and coming up with a final product that includes each person’s contribution. It is a goal to encourage others in their creativity and individual abilities.

Our course work will include:

Intro to Film, writing the story, storyboarding, and drafts of a script; scene spotting, casting, sets, costumes, props, cinematography, green screening, angles and lights, video converting, editing, music and sound, and burning DVD’s.

Please remember our production company is currently under development, and so these courses are ones we hope to cover. It is our hope to teach all of this, as the curriculum develops.

This course is currently being offered through the Lancaster Learning Link, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Students are required to be in the 9th-12th grades, and also need the following:

A form signed to waive the rights to make money from any productions, or reproductions of the final film or any cuts from it at all (creative commons). The students will be allowed to own a copy of the film, but not to make any profit from it. No one, including those who began the production company, will be making a profit from these projects. The goal is to educate, and build community.

A medical release form, for the use of primarily actors, but we would like to know if anyone has a need for medical attention in an emergency.

Students who meet these requirements are invited to participate in our production company.
